“Behind the Counter”
Come around back and see how these shots were inspired, set up and executed.
“Wading Through Enemy Waters”
The idea behind this scene was simple: a scouting mission through the murky waters of Cobra Island. Gung Ho, the seasoned veteran of G.I. Joe leads a rookie, eager to earn a code name, through his first mission.
After being inspired by rewatching the original ‘Predator’, I set out to recreate popular scenes with the Joes standing in for Arnold and his crew.
“Hidden in Plain Sight”
“Gandalf the Red”
What would happen if the “Merc with a Mouth” led a band of little pocket people across all of Middle Earth? With the help of multiple bags of fake snow, a vape, and my wife’s set of lungs, this off the wall idea was brought to life.
“Shadows of the Past”
Cloud Strife has always been a character I can relate to: a young kid seeking notoriety to prove himself worthy, haunted by a traumatic past, wrestling with the person he thinks he should be and the one he’s always been. Solitary, even in the company of others. I wanted this picture to capture the isolation that clings to him like a shadow; the kind that no materia can heal.
“That’s all I can stand, and I can’t stands no more!”
In yet another attempt to bridge two classic icons of pop culture, I decided to imagine what would’ve happened if Popeye were the one to bring down Amity Island’s terror in the waters. I built the boat out of foam and got Popeye the perfect first mate. Also made by Mezco Toyz, Seamus Levine brings the entire photo together.
“An Unexpected Reunion”
A sudden crash through the roof of the Sector 5 church brought two strangers together, changing both their lives forever. I wanted to stir up feelings of nostalgia as I captured the heartwarming moment where Cloud and Aerith reunite.
